SOLID HARWOOD
Hardwood flooring typically refers to solid wood floors made of 3/4" thick planks, commonly 2 1/4" wide, with lengths ranging from 12" to 84". The most popular wood species for these floors are red oak, white oak, and maple. Solid wood floors consist of single pieces of wood with tongue-and-groove sides and are available in prefinished or unfinished styles. They are sensitive to moisture and unsuitable for below-ground or concrete slab installations, requiring nail-down installation. These floors can be refinished multiple times, making them durable, with some lasting over 100 years
